At the moment, I am employed with Wave Optics Defense Solutions in Bangalore as a design engineer. During my final year (2023) at KCT, ExaSlate taught us a course in CFD using OpenFOAM. It was a great opportunity for us to learn about the fundamentals of CFD using robust open-source tools like OpenFOAM. Hi everyone, I am Atheshvarraa Raja a 3rd year student pursuing my aeronautical engineering at Kumaraguru college of technology, Coimbatore. I came to know about the value-added course offered by the Exa-Slate company through one of my department seniors. I joined the value-added course initially mostly because it was free and I wanted to learn something new which was computational fluid dynamics, at that time it was one of the core subjects present in my academics. The value-added course was taught by Mr. Kumaresh and Mr. Lakshman through online live classes. Throughout the value-added course both of them taught us very slowly and steadily, I personally found their way of teaching very helpful as I had no prior knowledge regarding computational fluid dynamics. Throughout their assignments which I had to submit after each class I had consistently gained more practice on the cfd software and I got familiarized with the software. after the completion of the value-added course, I had gained enough knowledge on how to run test cases and how to work on the LINUX OS. So, I suggest students to join this value-added course and gain some knowledge on the open foam software as the teaching members of the Exa-slate company had made the teaching in a more practical way.

My journey with ExaSlate has been an incredible rollercoaster of learning, challenges, and growth. It all started on December 31, 2023, we had our 1st meeting, before that they had conducted an online CFD course in online for our department, by the time I didn't have any exposure and knowledge in that domain, I decided to give it a try and successfully completed the course, gaining valuable insights and developing future plans to collaborate with them. In mean time, I been a part of a formula student community “Team Sakthi Racing”, where I'm working as an aerodynamics lead, I had a big challenge: designing new spoilers for our car. Aerodynamics wasn't a priority in our team for years, so I took it myself as a challenge to implement it. That's when I reached out to ExaSlate for help. What started as a simple query turned into an amazing journey of collaboration and learning. ExaSlate guided me through CFD simulations, first through online meetings and later in person when they visited India for a workshop and interviewed me for internship. Soon after, they offered me a six-month paid internship. Honestly, it wasn't easy at the start. OpenFOAM, the software we used, was nothing like the commercial tools it requires programming skills, and I struggled a lot initially. There were moments when I felt like giving up, but Dr. Lakshman and Dr. Kumaresh were always there, encouraging me and staying up late nights with me to solve my problems. They didn't just teach me CFD; they supported me in modelling of the wings, design calculations, and even presenting results to my college management, which helped us get approval for manufacturing the spoilers earlier. When financial issues delayed our wing manufacturing, ExaSlate respected my work and sponsored ₹25,000 for our team. On top of that, they added ₹5,000 to my stipend to recognize my hard work, something I'll never forget. One of the proudest moments of my journey was submitting a paper to an SAE International Conference, something I initially thought was impossible within the given timeframe. With ExaSlate's constant push and guidance, we made it happen, and the paper received recognition in many places. What's even more special is how they've continued to support me. Among many they referred me for an amazing internship at “Tata Advanced Systems Limited” and have been helping me financially to settle into this new role. They also extended the same opportunity to my junior, Mr. Akelan, who's now part of the team and undergoing training like I did. I'm truly grateful to ExaSlate for believing in me, pushing me to my limits, and always having with me. They've not just been mentors but also family. Interning at ExaSlate has been a wonderful journey.
