About ExaSlate

Built around three words.

ExaSlate is a technology consulting and staffing firm in Wisconsin. Develop, guide, collab is not a slogan we retrofitted. It is the order most of our engagements actually run in.

Who we are

One bench, two ways to hire it.

Most organizations end up buying technology help twice. They hire a consultancy to tell them what to do, then a staffing vendor to find people to do it. The two rarely talk, and the expensive recommendation quietly dies in the gap between them.

ExaSlate exists to close that gap. The consultants who help you shape a plan come from the same bench as the engineers who execute it, so the roadmap is written by people who will have to live with it, and the specialists we place already understand why the work matters.

We are based in Wisconsin and work with clients across the United States on site, hybrid and fully remote.

Our operating idea

Advice is cheap until someone has to build it. We do both, so ours isn't.

The three words

What develop, guide and collab actually mean here.

Every firm has values on a wall. These are ours because they describe three concrete things a client can buy.

Develop

We build. Applications, cloud platforms, data pipelines and the unglamorous integration work that decides whether any of it survives contact with production.

Guide

We help you decide. Architecture reviews, modernization sequencing, security posture and build versus buy, delivered as a recommendation rather than a menu of options.

Collab

We join in. Specialists who sit in your standups and follow your standards, for a sprint or for a year, on contract, contract to hire or direct placement.

Our mission

To make technology decisions easier to reach and easier to act on, by putting experienced practitioners directly alongside the people who own the result.

Our vision

To be the firm clients call before the plan exists and again after it is approved, trusted for judgment and not just for capacity.

How we behave

Commitments we'll be held to.

These are the promises we make to every client and to every consultant who works under the ExaSlate name. They are also the reasons we occasionally lose deals.

  • Advice from people who still build

Our recommendations come from practitioners who are currently delivering, not from a strategy layer insulated from the consequences. Guidance that has never met a deadline isn't guidance.

  • The honest answer, including “don't”

If a project shouldn't happen, or you don't need the headcount you asked us for, we will say so. Losing one statement of work costs less than losing your trust.

  • We work inside your process

Your tools, your standards, your review cycle. We adapt to how your team already operates so the knowledge stays behind when the engagement ends.

  • Someone's name is on it

Every engagement has a named ExaSlate lead who owns the outcome. When a date is at risk you hear it from us first, not from a status report.
